Sukaniya Samriddhi Yojna
Sunkaniya samriddhi yojna was launched by honorable PM on 22 january 2015 in panipat Haryana. These scheme is to encourage parents to collect fund for the future education and marriage expances for the girl child.These scheme is a part of beti bachao beti padhao yojna under the scheme the account can be opened at any post office branch or an authorized commercial bank. The interest rate for financial year 2016-17 is 8.6%. Under this scheme only one account is allowed per child. Account can be opened any time betwwn the birth of a girl child and the time she attains 10 year age. Parents can open a maximum of 2 accounts for each of their children, account can be transferable.
Under these scheme minimum RS1000 must be deposited in the account annually the maximum amount deposited limit is RS150000 If the minimum amount is not deposited in a year a fine of RS50 will be charged.
After the age of 10 the girl can manage her account. At the age of 18 the girl can withdrawal 50% from her account. The account reaches maturity at the age of 21. If the account is not closed then it will continue to earn interest at the previous rate. If the girl is over 18 and married, normal closer is allowed Under this scheme by mid march 2015 within 2 month of launch 180000 accounts had been open under the scheme. Karnataka, Tamilnadu has reported the highest number of new accounts. The number of accounts open upto October 2015 under this scheme is that 76,19,668 girl children got RS28.38 billion deposited in their name.
